Alton Towers 2008
This year a near-record-breaking 9,400 throng piled into the Alton Towers theme park to hear some of the best artists in Christian music and on this blisteringly hot day the event lived up to expectations.
The UK’s premier theme park once again had hearts racing and adrenalin pumping with the thrills and spills of Air and Oblivion. Delirious?, Sanctus Real, thebandwithnoname and RPM were awesome. This Beautiful Republic with their own souped-up cover of Gnarls Barkley's smash "Crazy" sent the crowd wild. It was amazing night of music that left everyone wanting more.

14 Years and Counting
Over 14 years ago as part of Youth Alive, the youth department of Assemblies of God, a music event was started at Alton Towers Theme park. From its inception they were committed to two things:
- Providing an incredible day out to which Christian young people would be proud to bring their friends that was totally cringe free.
- Opening the door for young people to widen their world view through training and experiencing mission both at home and abroad through our partner organizations.
That first year saw 4000 turn up to enjoy a day of great rides and fabulous music. Behind the scenes though there were many difficulties, worries and frustrations. The financial outlay for a completely new venture was testing, getting to know a new working partner like Alton Towers and then working with bands. The first year threw up probably our biggest difficulty in our history. Our headline act from the USA cancelled within a couple of weeks of the event.
We certainly have had our highs and lows during the last 14 years. From the initial headliner cancelling to our blockbusting sell out year of 12,000 people in 2004.
Around 6 years ago the event made the transition from Youth Alive into Ultimate Events. Ultimate Events is part of a thriving local church Milton Keynes Christian Centre. Our passion and vision has not changed. We want to encourage Youth Leaders from around the country to galvanise their young people to invite their mates to a great day out. They will experience a day at the UK's premier Theme Park, hear some awesome music and hear how Jesus has impacted peoples lives in a real and relevant way.
